New York, New York - In New York two families are trying their best to adjust to the new normal. With a global pandemic, the city that "never sleeps" has seem to suddenly fallen asleep. Streets that were once packed full are now a ghost town and this change takes some adjusting for these New Yorkers.
"It's a trying time." says Matthew Deodato, who New York has deemed as an essential worker. "It's something we have to adjust too. How we are going to fare in the future, I couldn't tell you. We take this day by day. We are very careful and cautious and, you know, we hope for the best."

New York has permitted essential businesses to continuing functioning as normal however workers must take precautions. These precautions include wearing protective gear such as masks and gloves while also trying their best to remain at a 6 ft distance from other individuals. Those essentials businesses include operations that fall under healthcare, infrastructure, and many more. For those New Yorkers who are stuck at home, their everyday life has changed completely. Families are trying to keep busy by occupying themselves with cooking, crafting and playing video games.
Maria Barone, a mother of four, expresses that having to keep everyone as happy as possible with "a lot of personalities in one household" can be challenging. However, she tries to keep things "light and fun" by playing games, sending videos, and even snapchating.
